How to stitch a QR code that scans
- 1
Keep the text short
Shorter text makes a smaller code with bigger squares, which scans more easily and stitches faster.
- 2
Pick the error correction
M is a good default. H lets the code still scan if a few stitches are off or a charm covers a corner.
- 3
Use strong contrast
Dark thread on light fabric scans best. Keep the blank border: scanners need it.
- 4
Stitch evenly
Use full coverage (2 strands on 14-count) and test the scan with your phone halfway through.
Turn any photo into a pattern
