Open OXS files and print a PDF chart
Got an .OXS pattern from WinStitch, MacStitch, FlossCross or another program? Open it here, see a stitched preview and the thread list, switch it to another brand and print a paged PDF chart.
How the OXS viewer works
- 1
Choose the file
Pick an .oxs file from your computer or phone. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.
- 2
Check the preview
See the design stitched on Aida with its size, colours, stitch count and skeins per colour.
- 3
Switch the brand
For DMC patterns, swap every colour to the closest Anchor, Madeira, Cosmo or other brand.
- 4
Print the PDF
Download a PDF with an overview and page map, the thread list, and chart pages of 50 × 70 stitches with symbols and centre lines.
Turn any photo into a pattern
Real DMC colours, symbols, a thread list with skeins and a printable PDF.
Questions
- What is an OXS file?
- OXS (Open Cross Stitch) is an XML file format that many pattern programs use to share charts, including WinStitch, MacStitch and FlossCross.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and the PDF is built in your browser. Nothing is sent to our server.
- Are backstitch and half stitches included?
- The PDF shows full cross stitches. The viewer tells you how many half stitches, backstitches and knots the file has so you can stitch them from the original program.
- Can I open .PAT or .XSD files?
- Not yet. PCStitch (.pat) and Pattern Maker (.xsd) use closed formats. Export to OXS from those programs, then open it here.
