How to turn a photo into a counted DMC chart, stitch in Workspace, and use PIXVIX on the web. You can read these pages without signing in.

Cross StitchExplore PIXVIX

Getting started

Import a photo or start from a blank grid. Confirm the preview, then paint stitches on the chart. Use Download PDF or Workspace when you are ready. Pattern name, size, and cloth color live in the Info tab.

Stitch types

Open the Pencil menu for Full, Half, Quarter, 3/4, Backstitch, and French Knot. Use Rotate to set the direction of half, quarter, and 3/4 stitches, and to switch backstitch between horizontal and vertical.

Colors and DMC

Each palette row is a DMC thread. Painting with a new swatch adds it to the list. Add color sits under the list. Reset in the header restores the pattern from when you opened the editor.

Chart info

The Info panel shows name, canvas size, cloth color, stitch count, and finished size. You can change cloth or resize while keeping existing stitches.

PDF and Workspace

Download PDF for a printable pack. Business adds your name and logo. Open in Workspace to stitch the same chart. Drafts also save on this device while you edit.

Troubleshooting

If painting feels slow, switch to Blocks in the bottom bar and zoom in. If a color will not paint, check that the Stitches layer is not locked. Undo with Ctrl/Cmd+Z.
