14-count Aida is the Pixvix default for new charts. 11, 16, and 18 are common Aida counts. Higher counts make the same stitch grid physically smaller.

Why is the result different from a hoop I own?

Hoops are usually named by inner diameter, and you leave a margin. The calculator reports the stitched area only.

Finished size is stitch count divided by fabric count. That is the formula behind the Info panel in the Pixvix editor — not a separate “SEO calculator.”

The rule

On Aida, fabric count is how many stitches fit in one inch. A 140 × 140 chart on 14-count is 10 × 10 inches (25.4 × 25.4 cm). Pixvix stores fabricCount on the chart (default 14) and displays this size in Chart info.

What this does not do

It does not estimate floss skeins, hoop size, or “over two” on linen. Over two on 28-count evenweave is a different convention; Pixvix’s Info panel does not apply that automatically.
