Etsy listing tool
Etsy listing tool for cross stitch patterns
The Etsy listing tool turns a finished PixVix chart into listing photos, video previews, and a title, description, and tags you can edit. It sends a draft or a published listing only to an Etsy shop you have connected yourself.
List a pattern
- 1
Finish the chart
Photos and the PDF describe the design you actually have. Listing copy written before the chart is done will not match the files.
- 2
Connect your Etsy shop
The studio will not prepare a listing for publish until that shop is connected. PixVix does not post to a shop you do not own.
- 3
Generate the pack and the text
The listing pack is the photos and video made from the chart. The text step fills a title, a description, and tags. Etsy allows 13 tags. You can edit every field.
- 4
Draft or publish yourself
Read the listing, then send a draft or publish. Connecting a shop does not publish by itself.
What the tool builds
A cross stitch listing on Etsy is a set of pictures, a description, and tags, plus the digital file the buyer downloads. PixVix already exports the buyer’s PDF. The listing tool is the shop window. From the finished chart it builds listing photos and video previews, and it drafts the title, description, and tags. The prepare screen talks about ten listing photos, two video previews, and a 13-tag draft. Those are the slots the studio fills. You still read them. A generated title is a draft, not a fact you must keep.
Tags stop at 13 because that is Etsy’s limit. The studio warns you when you try to add a fourteenth. A quality check in the listing screen looks for at least eight tags before it calls the listing ready. Eight is the floor it nags about. Thirteen is the ceiling Etsy enforces. Neither number guarantees a sale.
The pattern still has to be a pattern
The listing tool does not invent a chart. You make the design in the pattern maker, or you already have one, and the PDF export is what the buyer will stitch from. Listing photos that show a stitched preview are pictures of that chart. If the chart changes, rebuild the pack. Old photos will keep showing the old design until you do.
Write the description so a buyer knows the stitch count, the fabric count you designed for, and that they are buying a digital pattern. The drafted text is a start. You know the design. Etsy’s rules for digital downloads and for what you may claim in a listing are Etsy’s, and they are your responsibility when you publish.
Keywords people search — “cross stitch pattern”, the subject, the finished size — belong in the title and tags you edit. The tool can propose them. It cannot know that your chart is a specific dog rather than a generic animal unless that is visible in the design and you keep the words that say so.
What this page will not promise
A listing tool does not rank your Etsy shop by itself, and it does not replace Etsy’s fees, policies, or the need for a real product. PixVix will not publish to a shop that is not connected, and it will not invent reviews. Use the photos and the copy as a faster first draft of a listing you are willing to put your name on.
If you only want to stitch, you do not need this tool. Export the PDF and ignore Etsy. If you want to sell, connect the shop, read the draft, and publish when the files match the chart.

Read the Etsy guideQuestions
- Does PixVix post to Etsy automatically?
- No. You connect your own shop, then you choose draft or publish. Until the shop is connected, the listing cannot be sent.
- How many tags does the draft include?
- The studio aims for a full set and stops at 13, which is Etsy’s maximum. You can edit or remove tags. A readiness check looks for at least eight.
- Are the listing photos the same file as the stitcher’s PDF?
- No. The PDF is the pattern the buyer stitches. Listing photos and video are the images for the Etsy page, generated from the same chart.
- Can I edit the title and description?
- Yes. Generated text is a draft. Change it before you publish so it matches the design and Etsy’s rules.
- Do I need the pattern maker as well?
- You need a finished chart. Most sellers make it in the pattern maker and export the PDF, then open the listing tool. The Etsy page explains the seller steps around that.
